Feed me
February 15, 2007RSS Feeds are finicky little boogers. I have been fighting with creating RSS feeds for the conference website for a while now and it never seemed to work right. Well I have finally succeeded. I still think there is some sort of black voodoo going on, but in general the feeds work.
RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication – it is a way to publish your website content in a standard XML based format so readers/aggregators (like my favorite: Google News Reader) can read it and present it with your other feeds in a standard way. I get lots of my blogs, news etc this way.
So anyway, my inner geek is downright gleeful that the feeds of the conference site are now working. We (my inner geek and I) are currently working on getting feeds setup for individual churches on the site too. What fun!
You can check out the feeds at mnwo.united-church.ca. They aren’t very interesting unless you put them in a reader of your own though.
